PERIDOT THEATRE - ACTORS COURSE

Hi Peoples,

Mrs Adgemis sent this to me for any budding actors!

Love Kel xxx

Are you a budding actor?
Do you love theatre and want to know more about it?
Do you want to improve your communication skills?

Peridot Theatre is preparing its successful Future Development Course for 2007 under the tutelage of the experienced actor and drama teacher, Phillippa Adgemis. The course covers stagecraft, voice and character development, body language, improvisation, script analysis and interpretation. It runs for ten weeks, culminating in a short four-performance season at Peridot's Unicorn Theatre from 15th – 18th March.
The next course commences on Monday, 15th January 2007 and runs on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 10.00pm. The cost is $120 and includes general membership of Peridot Theatre for the year. Auditions will be at Peridot's Unicorn Theatre, Lechte Road, Mt. Waverley (Melways Map 61 ref F11) on January 8th by appointment. Audition pieces will be emailed on receipt of the audition form which can be downloaded from the site, completed and sent to: phillippaadgemis@hotmail.com
There are limited places, and whilst the course is specifically designed for those who have left school, consideration will be given to all those who show particular interest and potential. No previous experience is necessary.
Peridot has been successfully running the Future Development for several years and many graduates have gone on to perform at Peridot and other Companies, sometimes in lead roles, or have become involved in Stage Management and Technical Roles, having had their interest and awareness of non-professional theatre kindled by involvement in this excellent course.

Xmas Dinner Fri 23rd Dec

It can’t turn the 25th of Dec before celebrating with friends! So…coffee at Barclays this weekend bought Dee, Eug and 1 to the conclusion of a ‘Warrandyte Fish n Chips Xmas dinner’ this Friday night (23rd).

The plan is to head down about 6.30 ish, meet at the fish n chip shop, and then grab the picnic rug (plus insect repellent) and head down to a relaxing dinner beside the river.

Anyone with Frisbees, cricket sets etc bring them along

Let me know if you can come and we can arrange a car pool with everyone!

A few of us went down and did a picnic dinner last year and it was really great fun, we all just sat there chatting away then went for a wander along the river path!

Hope Xmas shopping is all going smoothly!

Love Kel

PS. There will be a plan B if the weather isn’t so good!

Late Notice: Upcoming concert

Some of you may have already heard about my upcoming Xmas concert. Here are the details for those of you who may wish to come. Sorry about the late notice - I only got the image last night, and then the internet was down.

In other trivia, you may or may not be interested to learn that the Priest of the Sts Peter and Paul's Church (where the concert is) is Father Bob Maguire.

Hope to see you there, or if not, hope to see you soon (like, at Imo's for instance, nudge nudge!).

'Radicals and Misanthropes'

Here is the info on my upcoming production that I've been designing, it opens this wednesday. Hope you can come along..
Wed to Sat, December 6 – 9 at 8pm. Matinee Saturday Dec 9 at 2pm.
Randall Theatre @ St Martin’s, 44 St Martins Lane, South Yarra.
Tickets $19.50 full, $17.50 concession
Bookings 9252 0760 or email: info@stmartinsyouth.com.au

The world premiere of a passionate and political new work written by four young playwrights, directed by Christian Leavesley (co-founder Uncle Semolina(& friends)). Set and costume ME, lighting Lisa Mibus, Radicals and Misanthropes attacks lies, violence, fear and bullshit head on. No apologies. This production will also feature the 2006 St Martins Performers’ Ensemble—a remarkable group of nineteen emerging young actors.

The result is an episodic play that speaks to our current political climate—one of shifting grounds and single issues—where parties and broad political platforms are a thing of the past. A climate that breeds fear of the other, political racism, selfishness and an inability to deal with our nation’s past with anything less than extremism—extremism of ignorance, extremism of denial.
