Together, we've made a good start on the job of getting progressive voices heard in Australia again. And after Government back downs on issues like voluntary student unionism and the shoot-to-kill laws, we are already seeing what thousands of people acting together can achieve.

Some of our biggest challenges are just around the corner. Over the next two months our country will debate radical workplace changes, increases in the power of politicians and police, and huge changes to the ownership of media outlets.

If we act together then we can ensure progressive voices are heard, hold decisions makers to account, and help force compromises on important issues. But - to be most effective -- we need to act in large numbers.
