Kiss Chasey!

You have all been tagged!

For those who haven't come across a "meme" before, basically, it is a list of questions that you answer on your blog, and then "tag" others to answer them on their blogs too.

Visit this post for my answers, and then have a go yourself if you feel like it. I'm looking forward to your answers.

Hopefully we'll be watching 'Paths of Glory', the second Kubrick for the DVD nights. I think it only goes for about 87 mins, so we might be able to catch a bit of 'We Can Be Heroes' as well.

Cocooning

Do you ever have those days when your hair just looks awesome and you feel like you're wasting it's superbness at home? Maybe I'm the only one. Anyway, my hair looks pretty damn good today for some unknown reason, and I'm very tempted to just go wandering the streets to show it off.

I've had a couple of glasses of wine...make that about 5...at an extended family function...which was rather odd with strange people coming up to me saying "Oh Erica! I'm your second cousin's aunt's sister's daughter! We're family! I remember when you were a baby!"

Anyway, today's awesome hair and my recent social butterflyness of late has made me want to be even more of a socialite, hanging with the cool peeps that are the onlycoolppl. So I'm wondering if anyone would be up for dinner and perhaps some DVDs at my place this coming weekend, either Saturday or Sunday night. No occasion, but then I never need an occasion to get into my kitchen and whip up a meal for fellow coolppl.

So, if you are feeling good about this idea then please comment below. I promise I won't have drunk any wine when you come over, and I also promise that my cooking will be tasty and salmonella free. I've yet to poison anyone with my food, so I'm going well.

Comment away oh coolppl, for the comments are your oyster and the keyboard your fisherman. Or some such claptrap.

Saturday night

Hi there everyone. My apologies for not getting on to anyone about going out on Saturday night, however I hope you will all be available to catch up this Saturday night from about 7:30 / 8pm at the 'Great Britain' in Richmond as a little delayed birthday thing. If it's anything like the first time I was there it'll be great, really nice bar (they sell a beer called 'piss' and the light version is called 'piss weak', how cool is that!?), plenty of space, lots of lounging areas and an outdoor bit. Other friends and or partners welcome. So let me know if you can make it, I'd love to see you all there, and I WILL be checking the comments this time... Derp.

P.S. Let me know if you need to work out how to get there.

Thursday 16th Feb, ohsix

It's that time of year, and Host Scheme has come around again. This Thursday is the day of my Host Scheme Function. It promises to be hella cool: in the past HS functions have spawned such hella cool friends as Dean (of DVD night and Monash Philosophy fame), and even preceding that, another man we all know and love: Krishna; also, one hella cool chickadee of whom I have unforunately seen very little of late, but who contributed to my dreadlock-bedecked head all those years ago and can therefore not go without mention: Rachael. And we cannot forget that Erica met Crazy Carl at his HS function way back in 02 (or should that be 'ohtwo', AJ?).

HS - Bringing people together across suburban Melbourne. Does it get any cheesier than this?

But do not dispair! DVD night will still commence. The HS bbq is starting at 5pm. DVD night will commence at 8.30/9ish as per usual, and whosoever wishes to attend both may. So I guess what I'm saying is: if you're up for a barbie get your arse over to my house by 5pm. Otherwise I'll see you later on for some eye-squaring action in front of the box. Be prepared for it to be a little more populace than usual as the Jaffies will be invited to stay for the duration of the evening if they feel so inclined. Kubrick may be postponed for this week......we'll see how we go.

pls bring nibbles/drink and own meat if attending bbq, as per Aust Day.

pls let me know if you are coming or not, commenting below is fine.

Chai Tea

I know recipes are more Erica's thing, but I found my friend Judith's recipe for Chai Tea and seeing as it's delicious I thought I'd share so then we can all 'chai' to make it.

She hasn't given me many measures, so I s'pose it's one of those use your intuition and experiment ordeals:

Chai
Ingredients
Cinnamon Sticks + Powder
Ground Cardamon Pods + also use Cardamon Powder
Fresh Ginger - grated
2 or 3 Cloves - ground
Sugar

Water
Milk
Tea

Method
Boil (simmer) for some time
Add Milk (1/3rd Milk to 2/3rds Water) and bring back to the boil, just.
Add Tea - (1-2 teaspoons) and give a quick stir, and then strain into a teapot.

I haven't made this recipe yet, but I've tasted it. It is mighty fine Chai. So if you do 'chai' it, drop us a comment and let me know how it went.

Thursday night is back (9th Feb ohsix)

No longer shall we waste hours deciding what to watch. Instead we're launching into the first of almost a dozen Kubrick nights. Inspired by the Kubrick exhibition recently held at ACMI, we've got our hands on the Kubrick DVD box set. And we'll be watching at least one every week.

So here's all the info you need to be in the know:

Thursday 9th Feb ohsix,
My house
Lolita (probably)
starts 8.30ish (movie to start around 9pm)

Hope to see you there.

Who's up for a day/nighter?

Well it's that time of year again, one year gone and another to look forward to (hopefully). Yep, I'll be turning 23 on the 13th of this month. By no means a milestone, but a reason to do something never-the-less. I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in heading to the Botanical Gardens for either a picnic lunch or a night at Moonlight Cinema (they're playing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) on Saturday the 11th, or both? Let me know if that sounds do-able or not, eoither call, text, email or blogit, I'll be checking. Hope all's well woith all. Cheers.

P.S Any other friends, partners or that guy you just met on the train will be more than welcome.

Embrace Diversity

Hi all,

I was trying to add a webband that said "Embrace Diversity" to both my blog and the Onlycoolppl blog, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. If someone who is technically savvy can work out the instructions at the above website, can you please let me know so I can upload one to my blog and possibly put one on here too (if other onlycoolppl think it's a good idea)?

Cheers
Seeya!
